Formula TN Client is a complete terminal emulation software package based on the standard Telnet-TCP/IP protocol.
It allows the Formula 8500 laser scanner terminals to be simply and immediately integrated with the Midrange and Mainframe systems, exploiting the power of the Formula One wireless network.
In a single product, Formula TN Client integrates the VT-100, VT-220, HP700/92, IBM 5250 and IBM 3270 emulations, allowing real-time interaction with Unix, HP, IBM AS/400 and IBM Mainframe systems.
Specially designed for the Formula 8500 terminals and for use in Data Collection applications, the package has a wide series of specific options that allow the emulation to be effectively customised, adapting its characteristics to the typical requirements of mobile data acquisition.
The emulation program is fully configured and then transferred to the terminal by using a specially designed Windows application which can be installed on a regular Personal Computer. This approach allows the user to work in a practical, user-friendly environment and also to save an emulation profile that can then be easily replicated to all of the system's wireless terminals.
There is no need for an expensive and complex dedicated Gateway to interface the Host system with the wireless network. Thus Formula TN Client is a simple, efficient and cost effective product to use and configure.
Optionally available is the Plus version, which features a complete Toolkit for reformatting the screen. It allows the Host application screens to be adapted to the reduced size of the terminals' display without having to make any changes to the original application. Extremely simple and intuitive, the reformatting procedure is carried out by simple "drag and drop" operations, thus allowing the Formula 8500 terminals to be quickly integrated into the company's applications.
Formula One is the fast wireless communication system from Datalogic. Specially designed for the new generation of hi-end Formula terminals, Formula One uses 2.4 GHz Spread Spectrum technology. With a data rate of 1.6 Mbps, Formula One offers among the highest communication speed available today, yet at the same time guaranteeing incomparable resistance to interference and strong data security.
This is possible thanks to the Frequency Hopping technique which has already been widely tested in military environments.
Formula One is compatible with OpenAir 2.4, the standard of the WLI Forum (Wireless LAN Interoperability Forum) which has already been implemented by more than 20 leading manufacturers in the mobile computing market.
